Locals of Ndzenjii, a locality in Kumbo, North West region say for two days now, soldiers have been wreaking havoc.
“They have broken into peoples’ homes and looted property,” testifies a local.
He adds that “some people have been taken to their base where huge sums of money are being demanded before they can be released”.
Other sources on the ground have confirmed the reports, adding that the soldiers armed-to-the-teeth have spared no one they met in the village.
The raid is reported to have started barely 24 hours after the 21 motorized infantry battalion of the Cameroon army entered Mautu in the South West region in search of separatist fighters.
The corps has insisted it acted professionally though close to 10 civilians including women and children were killed.
