The Prime Minister Head of government Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute has reassured all those who lost their properties in the course of the execution of the Batchenga water supply project they will be progressively compensated by the government.
He was speaking today in Batchenga during an inspection visit of the construction site of the water project, following instructions from the Head of State to evaluate the level of execution rate of the project.
After touring the site, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute took the opportunity to reassure all those whose properties were destroyed around the construction site that government is progressively paying compensation for their lost assets.
“I want to reassure them that everybody who had to be paid compensation for the loss of their land as far as this project is concerned will be paid. We are doing it systematically, we can’t be paying everybody at the same time because of limited resources” he said.
PM Dion Ngute underscored the importance of the project in the lives of Cameroonians as it is expected to supply portable water to Yaounde city dwellers and its environs.
According to reports, the over 500 Billion FCFA project which stands at 52.2% execution rate will supply 300-400 thousand cubic metres of portable water daily upon completion at the end of 2020
